Radio Indietronica
The assignment required the creation of an advertisement for a new internet radio station focused on indie electronica music. The ad was to be used both on public transport platforms and on Spotify. The key requirements were to include studio photos of one or more people, attract new listeners, and spark interest in the radio station.
The main challenge was working with studio lights and models, an area that was unfamiliar. This involved learning lighting techniques and managing a photo shoot with a model.
Solution
To overcome the challenges, the shoot was carefully planned in advance, with research into lighting techniques and the help of an experienced model. Rembrandt lighting and rim lighting were used to create atmosphere and dimension in the photos. A simple yet colorful design was chosen, using orange and teal tones to reflect the indie electronica genre’s aesthetic. The typography was modern and edgy, while the layout remained clean and centered for visual impact.
The ad was designed to resonate with young adults who enjoy Indie Electronic music, focusing on the dance/night scene. The concept behind “Radio Indietronica” is to deliver the same excitement and joy of going out, with the radio station bringing the party to listeners at the touch of a button—inviting them to simply “Join the party.”
